Elders from northern Manitoba envisioned a post-secondary institution committed to northern and Indigenous communities: University College of the North is that legacy. Legacy of the Elders explores this journey, from the dedication of the Steering and Implementation committees, to the voices of community trailblazers whose footsteps remain deeply entrenched in the local landscape and northern memory. This rich foundation reverberates in the heartbeat of UCN’s learning environment! Milestones include two main campuses, twelve regional centres, and education systems like the Kenanow Learning model that are rooted in Indigenous knowledge and unique to UCN curriculum.
